There’s this really nice piece at underthegunreview.net by Jacob Tender that a friend forwarded me today. It’s about how important Fall Out Boy’s album “From Under the Cork Tree,” was to him. After reading it though, nostalgic and well-written as it was, I really found myself more depressed than…
The fact that people who are so-called “fans” of Fall Out Boy could go out and tell this amazing man who was instrumental in making the music and records they loved that he sucks without them, That they would go out to his shows just to tell him they hate the record he wrote and recorded all on his own, That they would barrage him with hate on the internet and pleadings to get back together with his band so much so that he would quit using twitter, disgusts me. He is such a talented musician and an amazing writer and a beautiful human being. He was just going out trying to do his own thing, and people had to do this to him. Make him feel bad about himself as a musician and a person. Make him feel like he’s disappointing everyone. He is not the only person in that band. He is not the one person that the band getting back together depends on. In fact, he’s the one member who willingly has admitted that he would be happy to be in that band again when the time is right. Yet, he is the one getting all of the hate and the shit when he does not deserve any of it. If you don’t like an album or side project of someone in a band you don’t like, complain to your friends, blog about it on your own blog, and hey don’t buy their records. DON’T go to their fucking show and tell them that they are nothing without their band. DON’T make them feel like shit. Their music is worthy of being heard and appreciated by people even if you don’t want to listen to it or don’t care for it. And you know what you do when you do that shit? You make them feel bad about themselves and their fans and you ruin it for the actually decent people out there who do want to listen to their new music and do appreciate it. Patrick Stump is perfect. And you may not think so, but that doesn’t mean that you have the right to inform him that you hate him. You are no better than any other bully in this world and I have absolutely no respect for you.
THIS. SO FUCKING HARD.
